Christmastime In Toronto references

"...Your glistening rails and streetcars all aglow."

The Toronto Transit Commission has been running streetcars on downtown Toronto streets for more than 80 years. Yet streetcars have been present in T.O. since 1861; long before the TTC became the responsible body in charge of public transit in Ontario's capital. Their rails and overhead wires are a familiar sight to Torontonians.

"...Always the wind and the persistent snow
Gets into your eyes and your mouth and every fold of your coat" (Chekhov)"

Anton Chekhov was a Russian short story writer and dramatist who is considered among the great literary minds of all time. He began his professional life as a physician before making the most of his creative talents. I'd tell you which work the quote is borrowed from; but I honestly don't know. How bout that? Let me know if you do.

Some of Chekhov's better known works include "The Seagull," "Uncle Vanya," "The Three Sisters" and "The Cherry Orchard."
